it’s not uncommon when removing panels to break a few clips along the way. These clips are commonly sold in bigger lots per type, however you usually only need a few of them to replace the ones that broke when removing the panel.
There is no reason to remove the yellow portion from the white clip if you remove the old one from the metal body panel before putting this one on the actual interior plastic panel then reinstalling the plastic panel back into the interior body panels empty hole.
